Straight out of the Green Hell of the Nürburgring and dressed in its sublime green livery, the Mercedes AMG GT R joined the fleet of prestige cars at the Circuit du Laquais in 2022. 

If you're used to spending your Sunday afternoons watching Formula 1, this car will probably ring a bell. And that's normal! It is the model used by the FIA from 2019 to 2022 as a Safety Car. After three seasons of loyal service, the next model, the Black Series, was adopted in 2022. Today, this new model is used alternately with another Safety Car, an Aston Martin V8 Vantage, depending on the Grand Prix. Coincidence or not, but at the Laquais circuit, we also have the English car in our ranks... 

Visually very aggressive, the Mercedes AMG GT R is equally powerful under the bonnet, equipped with a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine capable of developing 585 horsepower. This German speedster can go from 0 km/h to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 318 km/h, which is ideal for FIA requirements. This high top speed allows the Formula 1 field to maintain a fast pace under Safety Car conditions and keep the brakes and tyres at the right temperature. The Mercedes AMG GT R remains highly manoeuvrable and enjoyable to drive, thanks to its excellent road holding, which is perfectly suited to a circuit with elevation changes such as Laquais.
